Muchhe jak glani, ghuche jak jora
Ogni snane shuchi hok dhora…
Ano ano, ano tobo, proloyero shankh

I wish I were walking somwhere near TSC in a white sari with a red paar.
Shubo Noboborsho dear readers!

Shubho Noboborsho!
Was there any BD community celebration in your city/state/wherever you are?
Aaah, TSC!

Oh yes I’m sure there was a celebration around here somewhere yesterday. After all, I live in the heart of the Bengali community in Queens, NY. I’ve been invited to one this weekend also. Unfortunately, at the moment my hermetic dissertation writing life-style precludes such lovely outings. I was at TSC for Pahela Falgun this year. It was amazing, ekushey boi mela going on, there was a rocking band, jam packed all over, DU students sitting on the rooftops around the stage, tokai kids dancing behind the stage in the shade of old old trees… I really missed out on growing up in Dhaka. I hear London has a great street fair for Pahela Boishakh.
