Oh yes I'm sure there was a celebration around here somewhere yesterday. After all, I live in the heart of the Bengali community in Queens, NY. I've been invited to one this weekend also. Unfortunately, at the moment my hermetic dissertation writing life-style precludes such lovely outings. I was at TSC for Pahela Falgun this year. It was amazing, ekushey boi mela going on, there was a rocking band, jam packed all over, DU students sitting on the rooftops around the stage, tokai kids dancing behind the stage in the shade of old old trees... I really missed out on growing up in Dhaka. I hear London has a great street fair for Pahela Boishakh.
